Agents

Overview

Agents are the encapsulation of the connection details required to talk with a target system. For instance, if UNIFYConnect needs to interact with a Microsoft SQL Server database, an SQL Server agent will be required.

Configuration

A list of configured agents is available on the Agents tab. Agents can be configured and operated upon from this page.

New agents can be added by clicking on Add a new agent in the Operations menu.

The configuration process of each type of agent is specific to the target system it will be describing. For more information on the built-in agents, refer to the following pages:

• FTP Agent
• SSH Agent
• SQL Server Database Agent
• OLE Database Agent
• Oracle Database Agent
• PostgreSQL Database Agent

Agents can also be added through the installation of PlugIns. For configuration of these agents, refer to the appropriate PlugIn documentation.
